The 2nd of the two surveillance cameras has been installed and is running. We are now tracking all traffic (auto and pedestrian) in and out of Burning Tree with high definition video capable of capturing license plate numbers and driver's image retrievable on demand by date and time and acceptable in a court of law. This system cost Burning Tree $465 one time charge.
The first of two video security cameras will be installed to be tested within the next two weeks. Both cameras will eventually be located on the main entrance into Burning Tree on opposite sides of the road. They will be motion activated and record traffic (both vehicle and pedestrian) going in and out of BT 7X24. Archived videos will span 2 weeks to a month, retrieval by date and time. In addition, a sign will be posted at approximately the same location announcing that the BT community is now under video surveillance. The price for this security system will be under $500 and will provide the BT community the video protection that is much needed and long overdue.
The Board has considered joining the BBCA security camera project for community entrances but is waiting for funding until the next budget year since the cost is expected to exceed $8,000. The project would install two security cameras that would capture all vehicles entering and leaving Burning Tree. The camera feeds would transmit to the BBCA Security center for review. The cameras would also include a hard drive that would have capacity to hold 4 months record before being overwritten with new data.
